Trip Description

This journey into the Annapurna region blends gentle trekking, mountain landscapes, and meaningful human encounters. It is an experience designed to slow the pace and open the door to daily life in rural Nepal. As you walk through forests, terraced hills, and Magar villages, the Himalaya gradually reveals itself in all its grandeur. Along the way, shared meals, warm smiles, and nights spent with local families turn the trek into something deeply personal. This is not only a walk through mountains, but a journey shaped by people, traditions, and simple moments of connection.

DAY 1 – Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, you are welcomed and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free, giving you time to wander through the lively streets, discover small shops, or simply rest after your journey. You may choose to visit Durbar Square, the historic heart of the capital, where ancient temples and palaces reflect centuries of Nepalese history. Overnight in Kathmandu.

DAY 2 – Sacred sites of the Kathmandu Valley

After breakfast, you set out to explore some of the most important spiritual landmarks of the valley. You visit Boudhanath, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world, where pilgrims walk slowly in prayer beneath fluttering prayer flags. You then continue to Pashupatinath, Nepal’s most sacred Hindu temple, set along the Bagmati River. From outside the temple complex, you can observe rituals and cremation ceremonies that form part of daily religious life. The late afternoon is left free for relaxed exploration before returning to your hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

DAY 3 – Kathmandu to Pokhara

After breakfast, you travel by road to Pokhara, passing through changing landscapes that move from hills to river valleys. On arrival, you explore this relaxed lakeside city and stroll through its animated streets. Later, you head to the lakeshore and take a boat to the small island that hosts the Tal Barahi Temple, Pokhara’s most important religious site. Dinner is taken freely in one of the local restaurants, where traditional music and dances can sometimes be enjoyed. Overnight in Pokhara.

DAY 4 – Into the Annapurna region, Galeshwor

Following breakfast, you travel by jeep to Galeshwor, the starting point of your Annapurna trek. The first walk unfolds at lower altitude through lush forest and fertile land, offering a gentle introduction to trekking. As you progress, the vegetation changes and the trail leads toward villages inhabited by the Magar community. You arrive in a welcoming village where you spend the night with a local family, sharing daily life and home cooked food. Overnight with a host family.

DAY 5 – Trekking through Magar valleys

After breakfast, your second day of trekking begins early. The trail leads through valleys and small settlements, gradually climbing toward Danda Kaske and onward to Nangi. Along the way, exchanges with villagers bring insight into rural mountain life. In Nangi, you have the opportunity to observe how villagers produce handmade paper using local plants, a traditional craft that supports the community. Overnight with a host family.

DAY 6 – Mohare Danda and Himalayan views

You start the day with a traditional breakfast before following the trail toward Mohare Danda. The path enters dense rhododendron forest, especially vibrant in spring, and you may encounter herds of yaks grazing along the way. Upon reaching Mohare Danda, you walk to the highest point of the village, where wide Himalayan views open up, including the iconic Machapuchare peak. The sense of space and silence here is striking. Overnight with a host family.

DAY 7 – Villages of the Annapurna foothills

After breakfast, you continue to the next stage of the trek. The path passes through fields and small hamlets, where children play and villagers work the land much as they have for generations. On arrival in the village of Tilkot, you have time to rest before the evening brings a traditional Magar cultural performance. The day ends with a shared meal and a well earned night of rest. Overnight with a host family.

DAY 8 – Kali Gandaki valley and return to Pokhara

Your final day of trekking begins with a descent toward the village of Tipling. The trail offers impressive views over the Kali Gandaki River, one of the deepest river valleys in the world. After around two hours of walking, you reach the end of the trek and continue by vehicle back to Pokhara. Once at your hotel, you can relax or head out to enjoy the city’s cafés and restaurants. Overnight in Pokhara.

DAY 9 – Pokhara to Kathmandu

After breakfast, you travel back to Kathmandu by road, following scenic mountain routes through the Gandaki region. A stop is made along the way for a relaxed meal with mountain views. On arrival in the Kathmandu Valley, you are transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for personal exploration or rest. Overnight in Kathmandu.

DAY 10 – Free day in Kathmandu

This day is entirely at your leisure. You may wander through historic neighborhoods, explore local markets, or visit nearby highlights such as Bhaktapur and its beautifully preserved medieval center, or the artisan streets of Thimi. Those seeking relaxation may choose to spend time at the Garden of Dreams or enjoy a quiet café. Overnight in Kathmandu.

DAY 11 – Departure

After a final Nepalese breakfast accompanied by masala tea, there is time for last minute relaxation, perhaps a massage or a yoga session. At the appropriate time, you are transferred to Kathmandu airport for your international departure, bringing this journey of mountains, encounters, and shared moments to a close.
